We are looking for a Construction Manager in earthworks and foundation to E11 Stora Hamnkanalen – subproject Haga within Västlänken at Trafikverket.

This is a consulting assignment based in Gothenburg. The position is full-time.

The assignment involves close collaboration with the client, which places high demands on flexibility and teamwork.

The Assignment

The assignment as a resource consultant involves working in the role of construction manager for earthworks and foundation in E11 Stora Hamnkanalen within subproject Haga in Västlänken at Trafikverket. The construction manager acts as the client's extended arm in production and serves as the link between the contractor and the client's production manager. The role involves monitoring production, ensuring that the work meets established quality requirements, and contributing to problem-solving together with the contractor. The project is subject to an environmental ruling that regulates work in water and noisy activities, which means that the construction manager collaborates with the contractor's environmental manager to ensure that the work complies with the conditions of the environmental ruling. The assignment also includes transferring knowledge to employees at Trafikverket regarding the tasks performed by the resource consultant.

As a construction manager, you are responsible for being well-informed and monitoring the daily work in the project with a focus on quality, time, and cost. With a proactive approach, you ensure, in the role of client representative, that the project's technical solutions and constructability meet the established requirements and that the project achieves the right TKI (time, cost, content). The role also involves acting in line with the project management's decisions and representing the client's interests towards contractors and other stakeholders in the project.

Responsibilities

Conduct continuous inspections on site to ensure that production follows applicable construction documents, technical specifications, and agreements

Follow the established control plan and contribute to keeping it updated, document inspections via Field Maps, and be responsible for ensuring that identified remarks are handled and closed

Perform construction management inspections and document these

Conduct spot checks of the contractor's self-inspections during production

Maintain a construction management diary and follow up on the contractor's production diary

Cost-consciously monitor production

Review invoice documentation as the first step before monthly regulation

Keep the production manager continuously informed about production progress

Assist the production manager and project manager with documentation for notifications and cost assessments

Perform other tasks as agreed with the production manager

Participate in the review of control plans, work preparations, ETSs, and traffic organization plans before new work phases

Participate in the follow-up and reconciliation of current production schedules

Participate in technical coordination and evaluation and selection of alternative solutions

Participate in handling deviations according to applicable procedures

Participate in construction, technical, and planning meetings according to the established meeting plan

Participate in safety and environmental rounds

Participate in risk management work

Participate in contractor inspections

Participate in the review and control of as-built documents.

Requirements (IMPORTANT, mandatory)

Ability to express oneself well in Swedish in both speech and writing.

Driver's license B.

At least 5 years of experience as a construction manager in civil engineering projects, with documented responsibility for production, quality, time, and cost.

Have been a construction manager in at least one (1) execution contract in civil engineering projects with a contract value > 300 million SEK. The scope of the assignment must have been 100%.

Experience with complex foundations where sheet piling has been involved. By complex, we mean foundations in ports, waterways, and other water bodies. By experience, we mean having worked in the role of responsible construction manager in at least one (1) project for continuous sheet piling in water. The assignment must have covered the entire duration of the foundation work from start to finish.

Experience with deep excavations. By experience, we mean having been the responsible construction manager for at least one (1) project with deep excavations of 5 meters or more. The assignment must have covered the entire duration of work with deep excavation from start to finish.

Meritorious

You have been the responsible construction manager or production manager for class 1 castings regarding watertight structures.

You have been a construction manager or production manager in a project where the installation of RR or RD piles was part of the foundation work.

You have been the responsible construction manager or production manager in projects containing noise permits.
